Starting Dec. 16, 2011, I issued a challenge to myself to take and post a photo a day. Beyond that, there are no rules. It can be something I shot for my work at the paper or a client, or it may be a personal photo. But for 366 days - 2012 is a leap year, y'all - I will pick up a camera and take a shot and share it.

May 13, 2012 - Of course, as a photographer, it is fun to record a little history. As a Central Kentucky Youth Orchestras parent, it was cool to catch this one: Conductor Dan Chetel and the CKYO Symphony completing their performance of Johannes Brahms' entire Symphony No. 2, a rarity if not the first time the orchestra has played an entire symphony. May 13, 2012 - Of course, as a photographer, it is fun to record a little history.   • May 11, 2012 - One of the best things I can here is that I captured a distinctive expression by someone I'm shooting. That's what No. 1 daughter's best friend's parents said about this shot. (148/366)
  • May 12, 2012 - This was a bit of a different take on wedding photography, shooting at a ceremony for the church, Maxwell Street Presbyterian Church, for a new wedding brochure. It was interesting to try thinking more about showing the venue than the actual couple involved. (149/366)

  • May 19, 2012 - I spent part of Saturday afternoon shooting The Pirates of the Southeastern T-Ball League. The Bucs defeated the Bluejays by one run. (156/366)
  • May 18, 2013 - I spotted this juxtaposition of the Fifth-Third Building and the older structure across the street while walking Downtown earlier in the week. While No. 1 son was in a violin lesson Friday, I walked back over to take some pictures. (155/366)
  • May 20, 2012 - Among the numerous emotional high points of Sunday's Youth Sunday service at MSPC was Janet's song, "Outcasts." (157/366)
  • May 26, 2012 -- I have mentioned my friend Mary Lois and her Blanket Train project before. She also makes stuffed toys, and this is an ensemble of them with our toy piano given to us us by my Aunt Mary Elizabeth, a doll maker in her own right. (163/366)

  • June 15, 2012 - Taking a camera for a spin at the Stephen Foster Music Camp final concert, I like the tone and resolution from the balcony at ISO 6400. BTW, this photo marks the halfway point in the 366 project. (183/366)
  • June 16, 2012 - One of the ideas I wanted to play with on Kimberly and Landon's engagement shoot was that they met online. This sort of resonated with me since Kate and I met through the 1990s version of online matchmaking, the personals. So, they brought along their matching Macbooks and I asked them to remember those first connections they made - yes, sometimes we ask for acting on photo shoots. (184/366)

It's designed to give the participants a sense of the confusing, frustrating world many of the people that work camp participants will serve live in. Here, a girl playing a single mother of three attempts to get some of her kids registered for school after having gone through social security, housing and several other offices. (185/366)
