The congregations of Pisgah Presbyterian Church and Maxwell Street Presbyterian gather Feb. 21 at Maxwell to celebrate Fat Tuesday and the conclusion of the Beards for Buds project, which raised $6,500 for men's cancer research. Pisgah raised the most money. Woody Berry of Maxwell and Jud Davis of Pisgah won the best beard honors for their respective churches. Davis' battle with lung cancer was the inspiration for Beards for Buds.
